Waypoint: Panic Never Wins — Last updated: July 5, 2026

Waypoint is a panic-attack support app built around one core idea: your data stays on your device, under your control. This policy explains exactly what the app does and doesn't do with your information.

The short version: Waypoint does not have user accounts, does not send your personal data to any server, and does not sell or share your data with third parties. Everything you log stays on your phone unless you choose to export or share it yourself.

What information Waypoint stores

All of the following is stored locally on your device only, using Android's standard local storage. None of it is transmitted to Waypoint's developer or any third party:

Notifications

If you enable the daily check-in reminder, Waypoint schedules a local notification directly on your device using Android's built-in alarm and notification system. This does not involve any external server, push-notification service, or data leaving your device.

Exporting your data

Waypoint includes an "Export my data" feature in Settings. When you tap it, the app generates a plain-text summary of your own data (survival count, streaks, articles read, most recent trigger) and hands it to Android's native share sheet. From there, you choose where it goes — email, notes, messaging, cloud storage, or anywhere else your phone offers. Waypoint itself never sends this data anywhere on its own.

Resetting your data

You can permanently delete all locally stored data at any time via Settings → Reset all data. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.

Crisis support (988)

Waypoint provides quick links to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call, text, and web chat). Tapping these options hands off to your phone's own dialer, messaging app, or browser. Waypoint does not monitor, log, or have any visibility into your use of these crisis resources.

Permissions Waypoint requests

Waypoint does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, or call logs.

Third-party services

Waypoint does not include advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or any third-party service that collects or receives your data. There are no ads in this app.

Children's privacy

Waypoint is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Since all data stays on your device, changes to this policy would only ever reflect changes to app functionality, not retroactive changes to how existing data is handled.
